DIY Liquid Laundry Soap

¼ cup Arm & Hammer Super washing soda

¼ cup Baking soda

¼ cup Young Living Thieves Laundry soap

1 cap full Young Living Thieves household cleaner (optional)

5 quarts of water

Heat water in large stock pot. Add super washing soda and baking soda to the hot water. Stir until fully dissolved. Let Cool for 15-20 minutes. Transfer to your Laundry soap dispenser. Add Thieves Laundry soap, Thieves household cleaner, and 30 drops total of your chosen Essential Oil combo.

What is life changing about this DIY recipe is that it is cost effective, there are no harsh chemicals, and no perfumes! Did you know that there are upwards of 3,000 chemicals hidden under the word “Perfume” or “fragrance” and there are upwards of 50,000 chemicals hidden in everyday household products.

These are trace amounts so they are considered insignificant, but since there are “trace amounts” in ALL of our household products, what does that add up to be as whole? WAY OVER the amount that is considered “safe”.

Thieves Laundry Soap 32oz is $32. $1 per 1oz.  You are only using 2oz per 1 DIY Laundry soap making day (which makes a little over 1 gallon of laundry soap at a time). For our family, we go through 1 batch in about 5 weeks. You get 16 gallons total out of 1 purchase of laundry soap.  So let’s just say if there are 16 batches out of each 1 bottle, and you make 1 batch a month. There are only 12 months in 1 year, so you only buy 1 of these bottles every year with some leftover

I was spending $12 about every 4 weeks for the laundry detergent I was using before that was labeled free and gentle. As you can see, I won’t even be close to that with this easy, toxin free, aroma-therapeutic recipe!

The fun thing is the combinations are endless! Fun for your kids to help create your own amazing smelling laundry detergent that is safe for them!

We made this combo for this month:

10 drops Bergamot, 10 drops Lemon, 10 drops Orange

The great thing is, if you don’t feel like being an expert perfumer to come up with combinations that smell good, there are tons of ideas on Pinterest to get you going.

I hope this helps and blesses your family like it has mine!
