Freedom is found in Him

A garland of grace and a crown of beauty. – Proverbs 4:9

Where to even begin. What a testimony I have! Last night was church, I LOVE MY CHURCH, God knew I needed to be there. If you don’t have this same love for your church (the body God has called you to) please find out why? The church is NOT a social club, yuck! The church should be a body collectively made up of a diverse group of people who deal with problems and love Jesus! Church doesn’t make you “holy-er” or “more righteous”. Church is NOT, nor will it ever be a true “status symbol” where you can be proud of yourself simply because you sit in a church pew every week.

Church is a vital source of “water” for EVERY BELIEVER! God brings Heaven on earth through people. God knows you need others to live abundantly and victoriously. Jesus came on the earth to build His church. As he walked on earth, He was constantly building “church” and what church should be. There was already church on the scene, but that wasn’t God’s conception of “church” anymore. God’s church was no longer just based on rules, God’s church was living with Jesus. Living in a close relationship with Jesus, will guarantee us desiring to follow the rules God gave us in the old covenant to keep us free from the enemy’s hold on our lives. God gives us His undeserved mercy and grace EVERYDAY through Jesus when we come to Him.

Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me [so we (Jesus and The Holy Spirit) are not welcome in their homes yet]…When the Father sends the Advocate as my representative- that is the Holy Spirit- He will teach you everything and He will remind you of everything I have told you. I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give you is a gift the world cannot give.” -John 14:23-27

A church that is founded and exemplified on God’s word accompanied by His Holy Spirit is the picture of what church should be like. Church can’t have neither- that’s just a club with a title… A church can’t have only God’s word (because how many of us know some scriptures can contradict each other when taken out of context or sometimes they just don’t make sense). We need God given wisdom and clarity! God instructs us over and over again in proverbs to ask for His wisdom. He knows every solution, because He created the world and He can see the enemy’s plots against you before they manifest. Without the Holy Spirit accompanying God’s word-the word isn’t going to be productive. Did God create the world only through His word? The answer is No.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters [waiting for God’s word]. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. -Genesis 1:1-3

A church can’t have only the Spirit of God without the word of God either.

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (Jesus) existed in the beginning with God. God created everything THROUGH Him (the word of God= Jesus), and nothing was created except through Him (the word of God= Jesus). The word (Jesus) gave life to everything that was created and His life brought light to everyone…. So the Word became HUMAN and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. – John 14:1-4, 14

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me…” – John 14:6

Wisdom without understanding is not fruitful. God’s word without Jesus and the Holy Spirit causes us to blindly walk “forward”. We can actually get turned around and lost in God’s word if we don’t allow His Holy Spirit to guide us and bring us understanding. We know that when Jesus took our place on the cross and defeated the enemy. He not only got us the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven back, but He tore the veil dividing us from God. People, even we as christians, can find ourselves walking around with a veil back over our eyes at times.

But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant (no anointing from the Holy Spirit) is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth… but whenever someone turns to the Lord Jesus Christ, the veil is taken away. For THE LORD IS THE SPIRIT, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord who is the Holy Spirit makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image. – 2 Corinthians 3:14-18

He [God] has showered His kindness on us along with ALL wisdom AND understanding. -Ephesians 1:8

Do you know that the enemy knows the word of God. Take a moment and let that sink in. We know the enemy was a treasured angel of God’s. Too often christians living without the anointing of the Holy Spirit can think we are safe because we simply know the word of God. While that is true:

The word of God is living and active [powerful, fruitful], and sharper than any two-edged sword. For it pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, joint and marrow… -Hebrews 4:12

We see throughout the Bible that the enemy is quick with scripture that he has twisted ever so slightly to “seduce” people to follow him. We still see this happen today. We can know God’s word in the battles we face, but we also have to receive that gift of anointing of the Holy Spirit. We are not created or instructed to receive Jesus without the Holy Spirit. If we didn’t need the Holy Spirit, then Jesus would not have described the gift of the Holy Spirit or the importance of the Holy Spirit.

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you. -John 14:16-17

(Jesus said) “I have told you these things so that you will not abandon your faith… I will send [the Holy Spirit] to you… When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own, but He will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever He receives from me.”  -John 16:1-14

God tells us throughout out His word that we are His masterpiece, that we are created to flourish and be fruitful. We see where God has demonstrated the importance of the anointing of His Holy Spirit. Throughout the Old Testament, what had to happen for someone to receive the anointing by God? Oil was poured onto their heads to signify they are chosen by God and that the Holy Spirit of God is upon them. Alot of you probably know the oil of God is a symbol for His Holy Spirit.

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. – Psalm 24:5-6

So last night at church as soon as our Pastors began speaking I knew, I felt a drawing from inside of me about how the message would help me even more in conquering that kind of fearful, self doubt oppression that I have mentioned in the other two posts. It came on not long after God gave me the vision for this year in October. It was weird, hard to describe, and it just kept continuing to grow. I kept speaking the word of God over the issues and I knew the truth. I knew these were whispers and lies of the enemy, but they just kept growing and taking a toll on me like poison. What happens with poison, there becomes internal and external symptoms, right. I was having them. My body began to physically hurt in several different ways- similar to past afflictions that God has delivered me from regarding my digestive tract functioning. Even my skin has been out of control like never before? Just crazy… I knew it was all related to this issue, but it’s like I just kept struggling to get totally free and with all kinds of symptoms accumulating, it weighed me down even more. So all day yesterday, I felt terrible. I kept going with a smile on my face because I refuse to just lay down and settle. As church time approached, I actually had the out of nowhere idea to just stay home. WHAT? I never want to do that, I am always eager to get there!! But these symptoms were LOUD and CLEAR and I thought I won’t be able to focus on the message. I thought I should just stay home and rest, but I didn’t want to keep our two girls home because even the night before in their prayers they specifically prayed “Thank you God that tomorrow is church and we get to go! (the best!!). I didn’t want to keep my husband home with me either because his work lately has not allowed him to be able to go with us. So I just kept walking- literally! I walked to the car without sharing my hesitation inside because they didnt know how bad I felt. Literally, as we are driving down our road, I thought man, I should just have him turn around and leave me at home, but I didn’t say it! I’m telling you, the enemy was working overtime to keep me home last night! Praise God, I knew deep enough in my spirit that the best place to be is in His presence.

So as the message was about how the enemy uses the spirit of Jezebel (seduction which doesn’t have to be sexual- but any thought that lures you from what God has said, with discouragement and oppression and depression) in the last days on a greater level as told by Jesus to John in the book of Revelation. Jesus explained how the spirit of Jezebel wants to infect “reproduce” through people generation to generation, but Jesus also said that the spirit of Elijah (powerful and anointed) will come upon His church to resist and wipe out the enemy.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. -Ephesians 6:12

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments (lying and deception). We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

I’m telling ya, I knew right then and there that tonight I was going to be able to break free from this spiritual attack. Our Pastor even gave his testimony of how he too had been battling a similar oppression- hard to define, just yuck and trying to steal his joy. He knew the Lord told him these simple words “It’s spiritual”. He knew He needed to stir back up the anointing that God had placed on him to take his God given authority and to command this oppressive spirit to go. Our Pastor explained how God gave him the vision to end the service tonight with the physical anointing of oil and prayer for anyone who needs to be set free. I had tears running down my face, I knew it! I was free! God not only met me here with the answer, but He already had my freedom waiting for me! From that point forward, my body physically felt COMPLETELY BETTER! YES!! Redeemed like I knew He promised! I took back my authority and my anointing with His instructions! God is great isn’t HE!

God knows you and He knows your needs before you do. The enemy knows when great things are coming from God and he will do as much as possible to get you off course, BUT GOD! Every name has to bow to the name of Jesus! So remember who you are in Christ, remember whose you are- God’s treasure who He has given the authority, victory, and blessing–the very GLORY of God! Fill up on His word and take upon the anointing every single day– with intentions, and not in auto pilot. Trust by faith that He is bringing you freedom. Remember, He doesn’t give you the vision without making the PROvision for you to walk in it!

Love you all!

  1. Beautifully spoken! Thank you for how you share the Word of God. I know we all have our moments and sometimes, you might say, giving in and then we feel it, sorrow, shame and disappointment because we feel like we have let our Lord down. Then he softly says, I am here! And I’ll never leave you. Trust in me!
